The Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) Secretariat invites proposals for new working groups to commence activities in late 2022.
SCOR working groups are formed of not more than 10 Full Members and 10 Associate Members, to deliberate on a narrowly focused topic and develop a peer-reviewed publication and/or some other product that will advance the topic on which the working group is focused. The group’s work is intended to be completed in 4 years or less. Instructions, guidelines, and template.

The SCAR Standing Committee on the Humanities and Social Sciences (SC-HASS) aims to initiate, develop and coordinate rigorous and high quality international research on the Antarctic region within the Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS); to provide independent advice to the Antarctic Treaty Consultative Meetings (ATCMs) on issues requiring disciplinary expertise outside the natural sciences; and to coordinate with existing science groups on issues that call for a multidisciplinary approach.
The Arctic Circle Assembly will be held in the Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre, Reykjavík, Iceland, on October 17 - 19.
In occasione della riunione annuale dell'Arctic Circle, principale foro di discussione internazionale sulle tematiche legatiche alla regione artica, l'Ambasciata d'Italia a Oslo organizza una sessione dedicata all'impegno scientifico italiano nell'Artico, dal titolo 'The Italian engagement in the Arctic'.
The United Nations declared 2025 as the International Year of Glaciers' Preservation, accompanied by the proclamation of the 21st March of each year as the World Day for Glaciers starting in 2025. This is an opportunity to raise global awareness about the critical role of glaciers, snow and ice in the climate system and the hydrological cycle, and the economic, social and environmental impacts of the impending changes in the Earth’s cryosphere.
The International Year of Glaciers' Preservation 2025 will be kicked off with an official launch event on 21 January 2025.

The AGM 2021 will be fully virtual, because the situation at the moment does not allow us to plan on a physical gathering, neither South nor North of the Alps. Therefore, we would like to invite all interested people in joining us for two days of scientific exchange on 25 and 26 March 2021.
The meeting aims to present and discuss recent advances in the investigation of mountain glaciers in their environment, no matter in which region of the world. The conference will be held on the Zoom platform. To take part without a contribution, they ask you to register online by no later than 22 March on the website.
(Continua a leggere..)
