On 14 September in Venice, during the workshop of the Paige project (Chronologies for polar paleoclimate archives – Italian-German partnership), Prof. Giuliana Panieri and Dr. Hajo Eicken renewed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Institute of Polar Sciences of the National Research Council (Cnr-Isp) and the German Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research (Awi) for a further three years, with the aim of strengthening scientific collaboration in the Arctic and Antarctic.
The agreement further enhances opportunities to combine expertise, polar infrastructure, research vessels and field observations, while promoting data sharing and management. The partnership prioritises joint transnational projects, researcher exchanges and collaborative research spanning atmospheric dynamics, paleoclimate archives, the evolution of the cryosphere and the monitoring of marine ecosystems. - PRESS RELEASE
