Sclavo Mauro Degree in Chemistry at the University of Padua in 1980, he worked as a temporary employee at the Institute of Prevention and Protection (IPP) of the CNR in the Research Area of ​​Padua in the field of environmental pollution of workplace and life. First technologist since 2001 at the Institute for the Dynamics of Environmental Processes (IDPA) and then in 2019 in the new Institute of Polar Sciences (CNR-ISP).
His main interests were aimed at the application of mass spectrometry coupled to capillary gas chromatography in multiple matrices, including complex ones and various sectors (environmental pollution by chemicals and forensic chemical investigations), followed up on dozens of publications in international journals.
He has collaborated for 13 years, as a reference laboratory, with the Italian Forestry Corp in chemical investigations useful for the characterization / identification of incendiary devices and their users, also as training personnel of the Corp for representative sampling and management of residues deriving from forest and brush fires.
He is a consultant for an agency in the assessment of chemical investigations on fire debris with the aim of identifying any combustion accelerants.
